Berlin seems to hover. Between the past and the future. Between the west and the east – still.
Giovanni Chiaramonte’s book contains images from Berlin from the years between 1983 and 2003 and shows us the city like we have never seen it before or alternatively have forgotten it already. With the help of his pictures we discover the changes, observe the modification and behold the course of time.
With a sensitive glance Chiaramonte has captured the architecture, ruins as well as fallow land of this city which is in a continuous change. This coulisse gives him leeway for his imagination. He concentrates on the temporal dimension, on those things, which remain of history.
One follows Chiaramonte into the Berlin captured by him and therewith also into the wide field of topics, which this city offers. An interesting book about Berlin.
