TIM CARPENTER /// LOCAL OBJECTS         de | en

Less pretentious is impossible.

Tim Carpenter is traveling with his medium format camera in his home environment in Illinois, photographing houses, streets, paths, trees, shrubs and powerlines in portrait format, black and white. And if one were to describe the pictures, one would say: tree, road, street, house, power line ... black and white, portrait format.

In the book, each picture is individually presented with a lot of white space on the spread, lavishly so, great solo appearance for every tree, every house ...

And what is it good for? The title (otherwise there is no text) says it all. This is how it looks around here, this is what I see, this is my reality, which I must understand. Then I can accept, rebel, tolerate or change.

The quiet, very beautifully photographed book gets loud when you look at where and how you live.
